The first is Ibn 'Ajiba's commentary on a poem about the Sufi way by his mentor, Shaykh Muhammad al-Buzidi (d. 1229\/1814). This work, titled Sharh al-Qasida al-raiyya fi tariq al-suluk, had only been available in manuscript form. It summarizes the pathway to spiritual realization according to the Darqawi Sufi order. The English translation includes the Arabic text of the commentary and an extensive introduction with biographical details and insights into the Darqawi Tariqa. The second commentary, completed in late 1210\/1796, is on the Salat al-Mashishiyya, the Prayer of Blessing upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ attributed to Mulay 'Abd al-Salam ibn Mashish.
