Anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste, including food waste, press water, or potato sludge, was investigated to produce methane efficiently over a day or weekend when no OFMSW was available. A stable co-digestion process was achieved with COD degradation between 60 and 80%. The maximum organic loading rates were 28 kg COD/L per day. For stable methane production, the OLR during co-digestion should not exceed 22.5 kg/L.
