This book traces the development from 1960, when the Singapore Institute of Architects was set up. It celebrates the best of Singapore architecture over the past four decades since the 1960s, featuring buildings that the Institute believes have added to the country's rich heritage in this area. They were selected by a committee that included many of the nation's most senior architects. The book aims to capture milestones of architectural achievements, reflect on the education behind the scene, and includes a pictorial history of contemporary Singapore works executed locally and overseas, arranged chronologically with context on Singapore's political, social, economic, and physical development from the sixties to the nineties. It features works that have won awards or are considered significant milestones, along with analysis from recognized writers and records of professional forums.
