The Unwritten, Vol. 1: Tommy Taylor And The Bogus Identity

Tom Taylor's life was complicated from the start. His father created the Tommy Taylor fantasy series, boy-wizard novels with popularity on par with Harry Potter. The problem is that Dad modeled the fictional epic so closely to Tom's real life that fans constantly compare him to his counterpart, turning him into a minor celebrity. In the final novel, it's even implied that the fictional Tommy will crossover into the real world, giving fans more reasons to harass Tom.

When a scandal suggests that Tom might truly be a boy-wizard made flesh, he encounters a mysterious and deadly group that has watched him his entire life. To protect himself and uncover the truth about his origins, Tom travels the world, finding himself at locations marked on a special map maintained by the group, showing places throughout history where fiction has impacted reality. During this journey, Tom uncovers a conspiracy that spans the entire history of fiction.
