Memory of the Holocaust, the atrocities of Europe's civil wars, and genocide has shaped Western politics and morality after World War II. This book uses the war in the Middle East and reactions to it to reevaluate two major narratives: the West's victory over Nazi and communist regimes and the global struggle for racial equality.
